Missing Pieces.

The building blocks for next generation emergency communications make up a commonly accepted communications framework, over which to develop and deploy specific applications and services.

Although the building blocks are common, the definition of different NG112, NG911 and NGPS systems includes specific protocol aspects that make the different solutions not directly interoperable. For example, the interoperability between NG112/NG911 and NGPS systems is not natively supported.

A possible workaround would be to create ad-hoc application-level solutions to bridge the gap. However, a system-level enabler seems to provide better solution to unify the communications with standardized procedures.
